Rally Round Downtown, Gilroy’s group of residents committed to bringing business to downtown, is calling out the troops for a night of laughter Aug. 29 at 9 Lives Club on Monterey Street.
The evening will feature three stand-up comedians, with Michael Slack headlining. Appearing at clubs, corporate events and festivals across the country, Slack has performed at events with some of the biggest names in comedy, including Bob Saget, Brian Regan and Jeff Dunham, and has won numerous comedy competitions.
The event is $12, but a limited number of $5 tickets are available on a first-call, first-serve basis. Call Cindy at 847-8197 for the discounted price.
Downtown Comedy Night begins at 7 p.m. (and will last until about 9:30 or 10:00 p.m.) and is open to anyone 18 and over.
Rally Round Downtown is a group of Gilroyans who plan regular social outings to showcase downtown services, retail, restaurants and entertainment options that are not widely known throughout the community.
