The Eagles opened recreational basketball play in the Men’s E League Thursday with a 36-21 victory over Rush Order at Solorsano Gymnasium.

Jesus Perez drained three 3-point field goals in a 23-point effort for the Eagles. Bruce Clem and Jorge Sanchez added two field goals apiece for the Eagles. Jeremy Castro led the Rush Order (0-2) attack with three 3-pointers on his way to 11 points.

New Hope Community Church is 2-0 atop the seven-team circuit after a 48-23 decision over the Titans. Joshua Ehle and Vance Lee struck for 10 points each and Mike Vanni helped out with nine for New Hope. Toby Reyes had three field goals for the Titans.

Rocha’s Drywall is 1-1 after a 41-34 upset of the Bucketeers. Teddy Jackson and Jose Maciel each dropped in 10 points for Rocha’s. Jim Falvey and Shawn Chizanskos had nine points each for the 0-2 Bucketeers.

Keith Francis scored eight points Wednesday as Gilroy Young Plants moved to 2-0 in Men’s DD play by edging RMD Construction 46-45. Cliff Colyer scored seven for the winners. Joel Vaca hit four 3-pointers on an 18-point night for RMD, while Arnold Tellez worked inside for 17 points.

Toto’s Stingers-Gavilan Honda is also at 2-0 after a 48-45 win over the Good Fellas. Alexis Rivas scored 10 of his team-high 14 points in the first half as Toto’s built a 25-13 lead. Andres Espinoza had 10 points for the winners, while Tomas Carrillo had 21 and Mike Lazano 15 for Good Fellas.

Handmade Healthcare is 2-0 in Men’s D action after a 42-32 triumph over GC Farms Tuesday at Solorsano. Armando Ocampo scored 15 points and Mike McAvoy hit for 13 for the league leaders. Michael Yoshida scored 10 points for GC Farms.

Headstart is 1-1 after a 46-30 win over CordeValle. Bob Lemmon accounted for 31 Headstart points. Dan Crowe had 10 for CordeValle.

Eight Ball Bail Bonds opened Men’s C League play Tuesday with a 47-40 win over the Big Dogs. Neil Garrett had 20 points, Mitch Burley added 11 and Jan-Michael Becerra 10 for the Bondsmen. Curtis Gibson struck for 14 for the Big Dogs.

Paul Plaza scored 14 points, Mark Cisneros 12 and Santos Benitez 10 in a 60-30 Pizza N Stuff win over Triple Threat. Kurt Gitmed paced the Threat with seven points.
