Eddie Adame tripled and scored on an Antoinette Bowe single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Guts ‘N Glory a 16-15 Co-Rec Softball League victory over Station 55 in Sunday’s opener at Las Animas Park.
Kyle Kawafuchi completed a 4-for-4 showing for Guts ‘N Glory with a two-run double in the seventh as the winners posted six runs on the way to a 15-15 tie.
Chris Adame went 4-for-4 for the victors. Tommy Muth homered and Tim Sorci went 4-for-4 for Station 55.
Out 2 Play fashioned a 13-8 win over Hi-Energy Networks. Trailing 8-2 in the fifth, Out 2 Play collected four runs in the fifth and a decisive seven runs in the sixth inning. Ernie Payan drilled an RBI double in both rallies. Shawna Snakenburg went 3-for-4 for Hi-Energy Networks.
Team Rush posted a 16-11 win over the Big Kahunas. Graig Martinez hit four doubles and a sacrifice fly, plating seven Rush runs. Vicki Groppe scored three Big Kahunas runs.
Joseph Gurule and Sam May each homered and Alvaro Garza went 3-for-3 to help Cross Ministries past the Sweepers 14-11 in the Friday EE League opener at Las Animas. Jason Ramirez went 4-for-4 with a homer for the Sweepers. Mitch Ponza homered in a three-hit effort for the Sweepers.
Adrian Lujan went 5-for-5 and Carlos Andrade and Jason Corona each went 4-for-4 to lead OMG by Fastenal Nuts & Bolts, 23-20. Jesse McGrew, Israel Vasquez and Jose Vasquez each scored three runs for Fastenal.
Tyler Price stroked a triple, double and single as AJM Plastic Surgery rolled past the Watchmen, 20-4. Milt Olson went 2-for-2 for the Watchmen.
Jus Cuz began Friday DD League play at Christmas Hill Park with a 13-11 win over God’s Gangstaz. Jose Hernandez was 4-for-4 and Johnny Hernandez drove in four runs for the winners. Hosea Rodriguez scored three runs and Josh Wettergreen went 3-for-4 for God’s Gangstaz.
The Stud Muffins defeated Feather Haven 22-4 as Tai Quach went 5-for-5 and scored four runs. Daniel Garcia homered for the Muffins. Brett Scott and Aaron Parker each went 3-for-3 for Feather Haven.
