Hi-Energy Networks moved into a tie for first place in the second half of the Co-Rec C Softball League standings Sunday with a 15-11 edging of Out 2 Play at Christmas Hill Park.
Jordan Regallo went 3-for-4 and scored four runs as Hi-Energy moved to 3-2, along with Team Rush. Hi-Energy and Team Rush square off Sunday at 5 p.m. at Christmas Hill for the title.
Brian Israel homered for Hi-Energy Networks. Benny Naranjo delivered three doubles for Out 2 Play (2-3).
Greg Lucio powered four hits and scored three runs as Kay’s Kids (2-3) surprised Team Rush 14-11. Doris Kanemura keyed the Team Rush offense with three hits.
Guts & Glory maintained a half-game lead in the second-half Co-Rec D race Sunday with a 13-8 victory over Anritsu at Las Animas Park.
AJ Martinez went 4-for-5 and Carissa Kozacek plated three runs for Guts & Glory (4-1). Andy Alarcon lofted a home run, triple and double for Anritsu.
Avila’s Market topped Gil’s FX 17-5 Friday to reach 4-1 atop the Men’s DD standings.
Marcus Gaeta went 4-for-4 and Ralphie Martinez hit a triple, double and single for the winners. George Espinosa and Mike Kachel each delivered three hits for Gil’s FX.
The Good, Bad & Ugly trimmed Alice Cortez Bail Bonds-Garlic Shoppe 17-6 to also reach 4-1. Joel Garcia tripled and singled in an 11-run first frame for Good. Jeff Elliott went 3-for-4 for Cortez-Garlic Shoppe.
Avila’s market and Good play Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Christmas Hill for the second-half title and berth in next week’s championship game.
Louie & the Outlaws defeated Anritsu 12-4 to leave both clubs at 3-2. Leroy Martinez homered and scored three Outlaw runs. Tommy Muth went 3-for-3 and Ray Avena scored twice for Anritsu, the first-half E champion. Anritsu will face the winner of Thursday’s playoff between the Lost Boyz and VFW Bingo for the season crown next week.
Vargas Taxes-Fiesta Auto Insurance shocked Freddie Sanchez Hardwood Floors with five runs after two were out in the bottom of the seventh inning, earning a 14-13 Men’s CC win at Las Animas.
After the first two batters were retired in the seventh for Vargas-Fiesta, consecutive hits by Daniel Vasquez, EJ Mendoza, Marco Lopez, Anthony Lucio, Mario Razo and Greg Lucio produced five runs. Razo went 4-for-4 for game batting honors for 3-2 Vargas-Fiesta (3-1). Aaron Muro homered as Sanchez Floors, in first place, dropped to 4-1.
Inked Tattoo pushed across three runs in the top of the seventh to snap an 11-11 tie, producing a 14-12 win over the Battle Brothers. Isaac Sepulveda delivered four hits for Inked Tattoo. Mike Cano homered, doubled and singled for the Battle Brothers.
Cypress Hill Concrete (2-2) topped AG Construction 23-5. Luis Gutierrez and Abel Gutierrez each homered for the winners. Mike Gracia went 4-for-5 and scored four Concrete runs. Joey Souza went 3-for-3 and scored two AG Construction runs.
