Kay’s Kids improved to 2-0 atop the five-team Co-Rec D Softball League standings Sunday at Las Animas Park with a 15-9 defeat of Guts & Glory.
Jerry Johnston, 4-for-4 for the Kids, keyed a five-run first frame for Kay’s with an RBI-double. Ray Maquinalez homered in the fourth for the winners. Carissa Kozacek went 4-for-4 and scored three of the Guts’ runs.
Anritsu struck for six runs in the first inning and held on to defeat En Tu Cara 9-6.
Alicia Bostick roped a three-run double in the Anritsu first frame. Andy Alarcon and Cesar Lopez each went 3-for-3 for the winners. Nathan Mandrell, Breanna Salgado and Ronnie Montez each managed two hits for En Tu Cara.
The Heathens reached 4-0 atop the Men’s CC League Friday at Christmas Hill Park with a 27-4 nod over the Battle Brothers. Tito Flores collected three hits in a 21-run fifth inning. Chris Mora hit two home runs and Joel Lopez went 5-for-5 for the Heathens. Marty Sustaita went 2-for-2 and scored two Battle Brothers runs.
Vargas Taxes-Fiesta Auto Insurance clipped Cypress Hill Concrete 14-11 as Shaun Subia went 3-for-3. Abel Gutierrez went 3-for-4 and Mike Vargas homered for Cypress Hill.
Luis Garcia hit a two-run homer to help AG Construction past Stud Muffins 3-1. Steve Aguirre went 3-for-3 and scored the Muffin run.
VFW Bingo climbed into first place in the Men’s E League at 3-0 Thursday with a 19-9 upset of No Soup 4 You.
Bingo erased a 7-6 deficit in the fourth inning with five runs, capped by a two-run homer from Dustin Robinson. Nick Robinson homered in the Bingo fifth inning. Anthony Corral and Manny Juarez each went 3-for-4 for the Soup.
Ponch Flores went 4-for-4 and scored four runs to lead Anritsu by the Loco Boys 22-2. Jimmy Castaneda Jr. and Hugo Arriga claimed RBI-singles for the Loco Boys.
Bryce Wilson homered and Pete Osuna lined a triple, double and single to help the Lost Boyz past Sons of Thunder 21-16. Adolfo Tellez went 4-for-5 for the Thunder.
