Red Phone: Dear Trucking Regulations Needed, In this case if the vehicle was parked entirely on private property like this one was, then it does not violate any city regulations, said Code Enforcement Officer Scott Barron. However, even though it wasn’t in violation, the 20-foot semi-truck trailer has since been removed from the property, Barron said. The owner was using the semi like a moving truck to haul his own items, Barron said.
According to the city’s Municipal Code (15.62), oversized vehicles (more than 22 feet in length or more than seven feet in height of width) can’t be parked on public or private streets. And commercial vehicles more than 10,000 pounds can’t be parked in residential areas (15.68).
The Zoning Ordinance also contains requirements a property owner must follow when parking trailers and recreational vehicles in the front yard. A recreational vehicle like a boat or trailer (not more than 40 feet in overall length, eight feet in width or 12 feet in overall height) can be parked at a residence where the owner lives if it does not extend over the public sidewalk or street and is three feet from the property line.
