TENNIS: Alisal sweeps doubles play in 5-2 win over Christopher

Hanna Tabron erupted for a career-high 32 points as the Christopher High girls varsity basketball team sent away visiting Watsonville 55-38 in a Monterey Bay League matchup Monday night in Gilroy.

The Cougars led by just two points at halftime but used an 18-9 third quarter to separate themselves entering the fourth quarter ahead, 43-32.

Tabron padded her stat line with 11 rebounds and five steals. Olivia Tabron enhanced things further with 15 points and eight boards, while Cydney Caradonna dished out seven assists and scored four points.

CHS is now 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the MBL as it makes the turn toward the second half of league play. The Cougars are at North Monterey County Wednesday night at 7 p.m, before hosting Seaside in a battle between two teams currently tied atop the MBL standings Friday night at 7 p.m.

The junior varsity Cougars won 46-20.

• The Gilroy High boys varsity soccer team was upended 1-0 by visting Alvarez on Monday night in Gilroy.

The Mustangs fall to 4-7-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the Tri-County Athletic League. A road game awaits GHS on Wednesday at North Salinas. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
