Vanessa Koontz had two goals and one assist to lead Christopher’s girls soccer team to a 4-0 home win Friday over Pajaro Valley in a Monterey Bay League opener.
Paulina Ilamas and Gina Rodriguez also scored for the Cougars, who also got an assist from Alora Estrada.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Oakwood 69, Downtown College Prep 43 – Nate Schilling hit six 3-pointers on his way to 29 points, six assists and four steals as the Hawks (9-2) beat the visiting Lobos.
Justin Mortensen added 22 points, 11 rebounds and two blocked shots for Oakwood, which got 13 points, five rebounds and five assists from Jonathan Angulo.
