I find objectionable your terminal misquotation “Do not ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.”
The actual quotation is from one of the Rev. Dr. John Donne’s Meditations. It reads (in part) as follows: “No man is an island, entirely of itself. Every man is a part of the continent, a piece of the main: if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less; as an isthmus were, as a promontory were, any mans death deminishes me, for I am involved in mankind. And therefore, never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.” (Modern English used, rather than that of the original.)
Please use “paraphrase” rather than “quotation” as you did in the editorial.
