A Swiss Army watch and a cell phone were stolen from a home on
the 2000 block of Pacheco Pass Highway after the owner left the
residence for a month-long vacation and his stepson had a party
while he was gone.

Celeste Rene Waldrip, 45, of Gilroy, 11:46 p.m. July 27, near Monterey Road and Travel Park Circle.

Crystal Lynn Sanchez, 31, of Gilroy, 6:33 p.m. July 27, near Welburn Avenue and Church Street for being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine.

Driver in possession of marijuana

Andrew Troy Penry, 20, of Morgan Hill, 3:27 a.m. Saturday, near Carlson Drive and Oak Glen Avenue in Morgan Hill.

Vehicle theft

Desiree Martha Flores, 26, of Watsonville, 3:45 a.m. July 29, near Monterey and Tenth streets for vehicle theft, receiving stolen property, lying about her identity to a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Leon Damien Benavidez, 32, of Watsonville, 3:45 a.m. July 29, near Monterey and Tenth streets for vehicle theft, receiving stolen property, lying about his identity to a police officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Grand theft

Roby Jeff Galbraith, 44, of San Martin, 8 a.m. July 27, near Leavesley Road and New Avenue for grand theft, possession of stolen property and parole violation after stealing a 250-gallon propane tank valued at $1,125.

Public intoxication

Daniel Rodrigo Gonzalez, 37, of Morgan Hill, 5:18 p.m. July 28, on the 1200 block of Berlin Court in San Martin.

Other sheriff’s incidents

Attempted burglary

A home on the 600 block of Tatum Avenue was broken into by bending a window screen, between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Nothing was taken but flower beds were vandalized.

Found property

A black wallet was found on a vacuum cleaner at a gas station near Dunne Avenue and Monterey Road in Morgan Hill, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1.

Stolen trailer

A white trailer was stolen from a driveway on the 2600 block of Pacheco Pass Road, between 4 p.m. July 29 and 4 p.m. July 31.

Vandalism

Valves were ripped off several water tanks on the 2400 block of Shafer Road in Morgan Hill, causing about $500 in damage, between 12 p.m. July 28 and 12 p.m. July 31.

Grand theft

A Gilroy woman lost $5,753 in a scam on Craigslist.com, between 6:17 p.m. July 18 and 12 a.m. July 28, when she sent three money orders to an address in Oklahoma to pay for furniture.

A chain-saw worth $600 was stolen from a business on the 9100 block of Marcella Avenue, between 12 and 12:30 p.m. July 28. A wood chipper trailer was also removed from the pickup truck it was hitched to, but it was left in a nearby cherry orchard.

Theft by credit card

A Gilroy man canceled his credit card after noticing fraudulent purchases that had been made between 12 a.m. April 30 and 12 a.m. July 9.

Identity theft

A San Martin woman’s personal information was used to open credit card accounts or gain access to existing accounts and charge over $20,000 worth of goods to as many as 12 different accounts, between 12 a.m. July 10 and 5 p.m. July 27.

Forgery

A Gilroy woman reported her incarcerated son’s checks had been used to make purchases at Nob Hill, between 12 a.m. Feb. 10 and 12 a.m. Feb. 25.
