Jesus Becerra, 32, of Morgan Hill, 8:52 p.m. Dec. 8, near San Martin and Foothill avenues in San Martin.

Altered checks

Four checks were stolen from a mailbox on the 1600 block of Maple Avenue in San Martin, between 6 a.m. Dec. 7 and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, and later altered. The total amount of the altered checks was $1,754.10.

A check was stolen from a mailbox on the 1800 block of Maple Avenue in San Martin, between 12 p.m. Oct. 9 and 12 p.m. Dec. 7, and cashed at an unknown San Mateo bank.

Auto burglary

The passenger-side window of a 2008 white Nissan Altima was broken and about $10 in change was stolen from a plastic cup on the 16400 block of Murphy Avenue in Morgan Hill, between 8:15 and 10:15 a.m. Sunday.

Identity theft

A Morgan Hill woman’s account information was used to withdraw $1,412 from her checking account in Nevada, between 12 a.m. Dec. 3 and 12 a.m. Dec. 5.

Burglary

A 40-year-old woman took a gold bracelet and gold earrings worth $150 from a cabinet in her ex-boyfriend’s garage on the 1800 block of Maple Avenue in San Martin, between 9 a.m. Oct. 1 and 11 a.m. Thursday.

Found property

A pried-open, empty cash register stolen out of Monterey County was found in an orchard near Bloomfield Avenue and Bolsa Road, 9 a.m. Thursday.

Theft by impersonation

A San Martin man and woman’s Commonwealth Central Credit Union checking account and bank routing numbers were used to fraudulently authorize two telephone transfers totaling $1,328.59 into a Wells Fargo bank account, between 12 a.m. Nov. 24 and 12 a.m. Dec. 3.

Defrauding an innkeeper

A 51-year-old San Martin man moved out of the trailer he leased on the 100 block of Ogier Avenue in Morgan Hill without paying $1,331.71 in utilities and rent and took about $2,950 worth of furniture with him, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Nov. 14.
