Martin Murphy assistant principal, Caroline Caracciolo, applauded store owner Mickey, praising her good taste saying, “Morgan Hill is ready for this!”

We all went to the hop on Saturday (OK, a lot of us went to the hop) at the Morgan Hill Community Center where the blast from the past took its toll on those directly from the 50’s. Sherri Hemingway made her way around the party on roller skates, passing her husband John with a quick hi and bye.

A birthday party given in Holiday Lake Estates on Sunday brought more than 100 people together to gather, sing and enjoy the food of India.

Sai devotees from Gilroy, Morgan Hill and San Jose celebrated Lord Rama’s birth by singing devotional songs and cultivating peace with their community. Sai devotees highly revere Sathya Sai Baba as a spiritual leader and follow his mission of outreach to the needy as well as follow his teachings on “peace, love and nonviolence.” Sunday’s host, still warmed by the activity stated, “All the people were so happy.”

Although of Indian origin, Sathya Sai Baba teachings have reached many parts of the world, and Sunday’s gathering included Western-born folks as well.
