Sophie Chase passed away in Santa Clara on Nov. 12, 2002.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, E.A. Chase of Gilroy. She is also survived by her daughters Pricilla Plescov of Placerville and Connie Scoggins of Sacramento; her grandchildren, Tommy, James, Michelle, Renee, Jack, Kevin, Tannon, Sionne and Paul; and many great grandchildren.
She is the sister of Chuck Glighor of Minneapolis, Minn.; the sister in law of Verna Mae Nelson of Riverside; and the aunt of many.
Mrs. Chase was a Gilroy resident for 38 years. She was a member of Gilroy Methodist Church and did needlework for the church. She was also an avid painter and seamstress. Mrs. Chase was very generous with her time and loved to volunteer to help others.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Habing Family Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be Saturday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. at Gavilan Hills Memorial Park. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Gilroy Methodist Church.
