Vendors sweep ‘C’ League Championship Series over Dutchman’s

GILROY – Celeste Soto’s RBI-single in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Don’s Vending past Dutchman’s Pizza 10-9 in the Women’s C League playoffs Wednesday at Gavilan College.

The Vendors pushed across three runs with five singles and one walk in the seventh to complete a 2-0 Championship Series sweep over Dutchman’s.

Lauire Klein went 3-for-3 and Alma Quistian slapped a two-run single to spark the Don’s offense. Brandy Davis scored three runs and Connie Rodriguez went 3-for-4 for Dutchman’s Pizza.

Dave Meacham went 4-for-4 with a sacrifice fly to highlight a 6-2 Handmade Healthcare decision over Countryside Preschool in Men’s CCC action at Las Animas Park.

Cesar Lopez and Mike Peternel each collected three hits as Handmade finished with series 2-0. Albert Alosi went 3-for-3 for Countryside.

M. Rizzo Landscaping earned the Women’s D League title with a 17-11 nod over Michael’s Mufflers. LeeAnn Blean went 4-for-4, while Melanie Fajardo and Sandu Liberatore each scored three runs for the Landscapers. Lucy Solorzano provided three run-scoring hits for the winners. Monia Perez, Michelle Skogen, Joanna Hernandez and Nicole Lara each crushed three hits for Michael’s Mufflers.

Ray Garcia went 4-for-4 as Pray For Rain claimed the Men’s E League crown with a 12-8 decision over JR Brewski’s. Jim Hernandez went 3-for-3 and scored three Pray runs. Mike Keith and Lee Liberatore each managed three hits for the Brewcrew.

The Gilroy Clippers won the Men’s C title Wednesday with a 15-7 victory over Interstate Fence at Christmas Hill Park. Jose Hernandez went 4-for-4 and Rich Perez scored four runs for the Clippers. Mike Lucio hit a single, double and triple for Interstate Fence.

Mike Gonzalez Jr. scored three runs and Mike Gonzalez Sr. stroked a single and double to pace the VFW Vets to a 13-6 Men’s CC League title-clinching win over Dee’s Nuts. Rico Lopez produced three hits and Danny Rodriguez scored twice for Dee’s Nuts.

Lorenzo Nino went 4-for-4 and Paul Fierro scored four runs to help the Desperados by Los Chilotes 13-5 and complete a 2-0 sweep in the Men’s D series.

Shawn Lopez lined four hits and Gerald Buchman muscled a triple and single to ignite the Desperados attack. Joel Gaeta homered and Jorge Landeros and Abel Bedolla each added two hits to the Los Chilotes offense.

Lopez Vending Machines took a forfeit win over Little Pizzarena to square the Men’s BB series at 1-1. The deciding game is set for Las Animas Park tonight at 7:40.

HMI opened the Men’s EE League series with a 12-11 edging of Solid Ground. Spencer Straub and Nate Galdos each singled and tripled for HMI. Joe Lujan and Ryan Brindle each drilled three hits for Solid Ground.
