NOTES: In the opener of the two-game series against the Chargers, Jacob Huerta and Liam Aragon both went 2-for-3.
The score was 1-1 into the bottom of the sixth, when the Cougars erupted for four runs. Nick Valentine picked up the win on the mound, hurling seven innings while yielding just four hits, one walk and one run, and striking out six.
In the rematch, Matt Anderson dominated on the mound with a complete game one-hit, one-walk shutout with six strikeouts.

Christopher HS boys track
In the Garlic Classic Invitational at Christopher on March 22, several Cougar athletes shined. Miles Jimenez was second in the 800 meters in 2:04.79; Austin Abero crossed third in the 3200 in 11:26.19; and in the 300 hurdles, Avery Montejano was third in 42.71 and Talon Coetzee was fourth in 43.07.
In the 4-by-100 relay, Montejano, Ethan Santos, Matthew Valdez and Jagger Booth came in fourth in 45.11 and in the 4-by-400 relay, Jimenez, Coetzee, Braden Hsu and Montejano were second in 3:47.84. Kordell Crocker jumped 20-0 in the long jump for third place.

In the Garlic Classic Invitational at Christopher on March 22, Chioma Okeke won the 200 meters in 25.86.
In the shot put, several CHS basketball players/field athletes sparkled. Shiloh Vallejos threw 32-1.5 for second place, Malerie Middleton tossed it 28-8.25 for fourth and Kalani Brown was sixth in 28-5.25.
Middleton also excelled in the discus with a throw of 92-6 for third place.
In the jumps, CHS volleyball star Finley Corona cleared 4-6 for fourth and Jasmin Serna was third in the triple jump at 31-7.

NOTES: In the shutout win over the Eagles, Evan Pasamma and Eric Hernandez each had two hits. In the rematch at the Eagles’ diamond, Brennan Neander went 3-for-5, Cameron Hilton had two hits and the Mustangs totaled seven steals.

NOTES: In the wipeout of the Chargers, the Mustangs scored 12 runs in the top of the second. Dani Wilson went 4-for-4 with two homers and Ariela Yslava went 3-for-5 with a homer.
In the Sobrato game, Yslava pitched five innings, allowing just three hits and no walks in a nine-strikeout shutout. At the plate, Wilson shined again, going 2-for-3 with a triple. Jennie Hernandez was 2-for-3 and Leilany Martinez went 2-for-2.

In the Garlic Classic Invitational at Christopher on March 22, Kaiden Gonzales was a double winner. The Mustang weights star claimed the title in the shot with a throw of 55-7 and in the discus with a toss of 144-9.
In the 4-by-100 relay, the Mustangs finished sixth in a time of 46.55 with a quartet of Niko Sanchez, Juel Martinez, Jaime Gonzalez and Omar Neville.

In the Garlic Classic Invitational at Christopher on March 22, Alexis Mydell finished second in the 100 hurdles with a time of 17.19.
