Gavilan sweeps CCSF to punch first ticket to state playoffs
For the first time that anyone at Gavilan can recall, the women’s volleyball team is headed to the state playoffs following a three-set sweep of City College of San Francisco.

After each drill, the Rams volleyball players huddled together to acknowledge each other's accomplishments, always ending with a “Go Rams” chant before breaking. The Gavilan College women's volleyball program reappeared in 2005 after an 11-year hiatus. Two years later, Kevin Kramer took over as head coach, quickly, and quietly, turning a team that totaled a combined eight victories in 2005-06 to a conference contender.

Break out the brooms. Gavilan continued to bowl past its opponents as it swept Hartnell Tuesday and Ohlone Wednesday on the road. With the wins, Gavilan improves to a perfect 4-0 in conference play.
