GILROY—Gavilan sophomores like Bryant Cid had some unfinished business from their freshmen year. Having started the season off strong, the Rams tapered off towards the end of that season and missed their shot at the playoffs.
Gavilan is one step closer toward finalizing sanctions against its football team following potential recruiting and benefits violations that led to the dismissal of 17 players at the end of August.
In the second half of Friday night's game against visiting Monterey Peninsula College, the Gavilan men's basketball team chipped away at an 11-point deficit, sculpting a manageable four-point dilemma with plenty of time to spare.
