Ties seem to be the trend for Gilroy thus far. The Mustangs tied 1-1 in overtime at Presentation Friday, putting them at 0-0-2 in the Mt. Hamilton League so far this year. GHS is 4-0-2 overall. The Mustangs were without the services of standout Katrina 'KC' Carter, who suffered an upper body injury in Wednesday's game against Mitty.  Freshman Emily Boykin scored the lone Gilroy goal, a game tying score with three minutes left to play.  Gilroy will be back in action at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Leigh.Â

With stands packed and the home crowd behind them, the Cougars pulled within one point heading into the final frame and the momentum seemed to be in their favor — but the Haybalers quickly put an end to that.
