Gilroy took advantage of two plays—a 90 yard pass and a 23 yard run—to take an early control and get its fourth league-win beating Monterey 42-9 and make a little history.

Christopher will take the field tonight for the final time in 2015. Senior night, normally bittersweet, will just be bitter as the team must take the field less than a week after the passing of Jennifer Pierleoni.

The Christopher High football team held its annual Midnight Madness football practice, starting with a barbecue and team building exercises on Aug. 13 before taking the field at 12:01 a.m. Aug. 14. 

Gilroy High’s boys basketball team will visit Christopher in a California Interscholastic Federation Central Coast Section Division III first-round playoff game at 7 p.m. Tuesday, the CCS announced Sunday.

Brennan Wilson led off Friday's Monterey Bay League  tilt against visiting Seaside with a bouncing hit up the middle into centerfield. The unassuming base knock was the spark to what evolved into an explosion of offense in a Cougars' 19-0 romp of the Spartans in five innings.

CARMEL—Though Gilroy High golfer Magnus Myhr started off on a hot streak, he finished a few strokes shy of extending his season.

GILROY—It’s not everyday that Gilroy High alumni are asked to pose for photos and sign autographs. It’s not everyday that an alum is a two-time NCAA Division I wrestling champion either.

Sophomore Allison Foster won the varsity 300-meter hurdles in 47.63 seconds to lead Christopher High’s girls track and field team to a third-place finish in its own Garlic Classic on Saturday at Gilroy High.
