Gilroy sweeps to state title

The Little League Minor softball team won the state championship in Madera, going 8-0 through out the All Star tournament. Gilroy was 2-0 against San Jose in the district tournament and went 3-0 in Martinez at the Section tourney. In sections, Gilroy beat American Canyon 12-1, East County from Brentwood 6-5, and beat East County 13-0 for the title. From there Gilroy moved on to Madera for State championships defeating Consumnes River from Sacramento 7-2, Sutter Butte from Chico area 10-9 and again 15-8 to win State. This was the first time ever the girls Minors went undefeated on a run all the way through state.
