Tennis: Local women clinch 65 and over national title
SURPRISE, ARIZ.—The last match of the United States Tennis Association’s 65 and Over Tennis Championships was as close as they come. Gilroy’s Ann Bardrick and her doubles teammate Janis Jud, of San Martin, held the fate of their teams’ national title on the tennis racquets—but they didn’t know it at the time.
Prep Volleyball: Cougars’ Salcedo earns three postseason honors
Emmanuel Salcedo was instramental for the Christopher boys volleyball team this season, leading it to back-to-back playoff berths. The senior outside hitter, who coach Karrie Gonzalez called her “MVP” after the team's last game, was recognized with three Monterey Bay All-League honors Tuesday.

Christopher High's memorable season came to a close Tuesday night as Los Gatos made the trek to Gilroy and promptly spoiled the Cougars' inaugural postseason appearance 47-31 in the first round of the Central Coast Section Division II girls basketball tournament.
