GILROY—As Gilroy’s new head football coach, Jubenal Rodriguez isn’t wasting any time.

GILROY—Gavilan coach Spencer Gilford promised Deniko Carter, Armani Miller and Trevin Kelley he’d help them reach the next level. On Wednesday, Gilford fulfilled that promise.

Four Mustangs scored in double-digits against Pajaro Valley and propelled their team to a dominant 70-34 win Wednesday at home.

Wednesday was a big night for Natalia Armstrong. 

Christopher and North Salinas duked it out Tuesday, but neither could gain an edge. 

Gavilan recorded its fourth straight win and only needed one run to do so. 

GILROY—Christopher and Monte Vista Christian needed an extra quarter to decide the winner of Friday’s heated league contest. But it was the Mustangs who came out on top, handing the Cougars a heartbreaking 78-71 overtime loss at Christopher High.

Gilroy extended its undefeated over Christopher, beating its crosstown rival 3-0 Saturday at CHS. 

Gavilan's Tony Amaral was at the helm for two of the team's three runs, helping it complete the sweep of Lassen Saturday at home. 

Last-minute free throws lifted Christopher to a 66-64 win over Monterey Wednesday at home.
