GILROY—Thursday’s home meet marked the end of an era for Christopher coach Jeff Myers. After 30 years, the track and field coach is retiring.

The Christopher High wrestling team's expectations are through the roof this season. Its list of goals starts with a clean run through the Monterey Bay League. Priority No. 1 looked to be in jeopardy as a short-handed Cougars squad entered Wednesday night's dual meet against visiting Watsonville.

It wasn't easy, but the Gavilan volleyball team was able to uphold its perfect conference record.

GILROY—Tonight, football will both unite Gilroy and divide it. Gilroyans will have to pick a side as the Mustangs and Cougars clash in the 6th annual Severance Bowl game, held at Christopher High School for the first time.

After losing its home opener by a lone goal, the Christopher boys soccer team rebounded in a big way. 

It may not yet have the same pomp and circumstance as the Gilroy High-San Benito Prune Bowl, but don’t tell the Balers that Friday’s game against Christopher High wasn’t a rivalry.

GILROY—The Cougars have been dealt several inconsistencies this season. The loss of their head coach, injuries to standout players and the struggles of playing in the Gabilan Division have thrown a wrench in their year, but at least one thing has stayed the same. The Severance Bell is still theirs.
