The Gilroy boys soccer team was handed its third loss of the year after losing 3-0 to Silver Creek at home Tuesday. 

Brian Boyd’s coaching tenure at Gilroy High came to an abrupt end following a meeting Dec. 10 with administrators where he says he was asked to resign, but the Mustangs aren’t letting him go without a fight.

A big second half propelled Gilroy to its second win of the season.

The season may be over, but the accolades continue to roll in for Gilroy field hockey.

Two Mustangs made their wrestling debut this past weekend and they picked up first place finishes in the process. 

Three Rams scored in double digits to help Gavilan to its first win of the year. 

GILROY—Just hours before his tournament championship game, Nate Schilling was practicing his shooting with his dad. The pointers his dad gave him—keep your elbow straight and get a lot of arch on your shot—resonated through Schilling’s head all game and helped him out his recent shooting funk—not to mention being Oakwood’s leading scorer, too.

GILROY—Alec Cordova saved his best game for last.

GILROY—Both Live Oak and Gilroy had off quarters Friday night in the Bob Hagen Tournament semifinals.
