WEDNESDAY ROUNDUP: GHS girls soccer wins big in league opener

After a three-week layoff and eager to begin defense of their fifth Tri-County Athletic League title, the Gilroy High girls varsity soccer team returned to the pitch for its TCAL opener and hit the ground running. Four different Mustangs registered goals in a 7-0 drubbing of host Alisal on Wednesday in Salinas.

FOOTBALL: Mustangs run past Pajaro Valley, 48-19

Gilroy High piled up 619 yards, held Pajaro Valley scoreless in the second half and cruised to a 48-19 victory Friday night in Gilroy.

Tennis: Singles play helps CHS boys edge Alvarez
