GILROY—Christopher’s secret is out.

GILROY—After being swept by Christopher last year, Gilroy wanted to prove its a completely different team.

Gavilan goalie Angel Trejo was stellar in net against Folsom Lake College.

The Gilroy field hockey team started its season off on the right foot, going undefeated at the Varsity Jamboree tournament Saturday at Saratoga. Morgan Rogars was one of the top scorers for the Mustangs, who topped Los Altos 4-0, Saratoga 1-0 and tied with Archbishop Mitty 1-1. Coach Adam Gemar also noted Cathy Carbajal and Carli Colyer as standouts from the tournament.  Gilroy (2-0-1) will host North Salinas at 3:30 p.m. Thursday before playing in the Leigh Roundup tournament Friday and Saturday.

GILROY—The Gavilan College Rams shook off a 24-14 halftime deficit to strike for seven touchdowns in the second half on the way to a 63-50 non-conference victory over the Shasta Knights at Garcia-Elder Sports Complex Saturday evening.
