GILROY — Gilroy coach Brian Boyd said before the season that he didn’t care about the team’s record, just making the playoffs. With two weeks left in the season, nothing has changed.

SAN JOSE —  Gavilan did what it needed to. The Rams stayed strong in the second half and didn’t give up — even when trailing by seven points with just 0.6 seconds left on the clock.

GILROY — It was a mission accomplished for Christopher Friday night.

CASTROVILLE — If you somehow find a way to stop Brandon Boyd’s rushing attack, he’ll find another way to score.

GILROY — Emma Leach has been playing field hockey at the Garcia-Elder Sports Complex for almost her entire career. On Wednesday, she had to say goodbye.

The Gilroy girls volleyball team is on a roll. The Mustangs ignited a two-game winning streak with a 3-0 win over Pajaro Valley at home Wednesday. GHS won 25-18, 25-9, 25-20.  Sarah Weiby led the way for Gilroy, racking up 11 kills in the game. Alexis Conley added seven kills while McKenna Moreley and Leilani Mah each had five a piece.  Jenna Clonts and Mah acted like a brick wall, guarding the net and coming up with four blocks each.  

GILROY — Luis Ramirez may not have played a full 90 minutes, but he certainly made a difference for Gavilan.
