SANTA CLARA—Christopher High diver Anthony Lopez is light-years ahead of where he was three years ago. As a freshman, the Cougar finished 27th at the Central Coast Section Swim and Dive Championships. This year, the Cougar contorted his body in impossible ways to take his place among the section’s best with a ninth place finish.

GILROY—It was eerily silent as Jimmy Lemberger stood at the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning. Josiah Wiley, the tying run, stood on second base and all Lemberger had to do was bring him home to keep Gilroy’s chances alive.

Christopher did plenty offensively to beat Monte Vista Christian.

Both Gilroy water polo teams made a splash on Tuesday.

It was a tough battle for Christopher, but the Cougars persevered.

Christopher High’s boys volleyball team won the Silver Division title in the Charger Classic on Saturday at Leland.
