BASKETBALL: CHS girls to host Los Gatos in CCS first round
The Monterey Bay League champion Christopher High girls basketball team was placed into the Division II bracket and will host Los Gatos in the first round of the Central Coast Section playoffs Tuesday night. Game time is 7 p.m.

Soccer: San Benito boys get first league win over Christopher
Throughout the first eight games of the year, the San Benito boys soccer team had trouble finishing and putting away teams. Against Christopher on Tuesday, the Balers did just that in a 3-0 win. After a back and forth first half, where neither team could score despite constant pressure on both sides of the field, San Benito took control in the second half.

VOLLEYBALL: GHS out of sync in loss to Monterey
The Gilroy High boys volleyball team knew it had to contend with Monterey High kill leader, Stephen Dorsey. That challenge isn't new to the Mustangs or any opponent, really. Dorsey, a state meet medalist in the high jump last season, will get his points. He registered an unassuming 17 kills in an otherwise even matchup between the Tri-County Athletic League's last two league champions Tuesday night.
