Big win for Gilroy
Santa Cruz – A little offense, a little luck and lots of good pitching and defense helped the Gilroy Americans send home Capitola-Soquel from the District 39 11-year-olds All-Star Tournament by a score of 7-3 Wednesday night in Santa Cruz.
Giacalone trip to NASCAR race is electrical
The Giacalone Electrical Services family had a special reason to attend the Dodge/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma's Infineon Speedway on June 26 – the Gilroy company had its logo emblazoned on the No. 17 DeWalt Power Tools Ford driven by Matt Kenseth. The Giacolones enjoyed the fruits of their sponsorship, a day of hanging out with the stars of NASCAR in pit lane. Kenseth finished 11th in the race, which was won by Tony Stewart in the No. 20 Home Depot Chevrolet.
