GILROY—Missed opportunities defined the game for Gavilan on Saturday night. Every chance the Rams had to reach the endzone ended in a disaster as they fell 40-2 to Reedley at Christopher High.

GILROY—Looking at the stats from Gavilan’s game against Yuba, it’s hard to see where it went wrong. The Rams outdid Yuba offensively, racking up 382 yards to the 49ers’ 353. They had more yards in the air—284 to 151—and less penalties, drawing only five flags to Yuba’s 11.

GILROY—Gymnasts from Gilroy and Hollister celebrated the lives of survivors of women’s cancers and in turn helped raise awareness at the annual Pink Meet Invitational at Bay Aerials in Fremont.
Prep Roundup: Sept. 24
When Monica Ruelas finished Wednesday’s Monterey Bay League Center Meet No. 1 race at Toro Park, there was no one else in sight. The Mustang runner finished more than a minute ahead of the second place finisher to take the top prize. Ruelas finished the race in 20:51.
