Gavilan left Sacramento with a split decision. The Rams lost 3-1 to Sacramento City but rebounded with a sweep of Lassen Tuesday at the Sacramento City College Classic.

JUCO Football: Rams eye first win at Yuba

GILROY—If a few things went differently, Gavilan could’ve secured its first win on Sept. 12. One less penalty or fumble, one more completion or tackle and the Rams might’ve headed home victorious. Instead, they fell 32-29 to Mendocino at Christopher High. And coach Mike Dovenberg is determined not to let that happen again.

GILROY—The Mustangs field hockey team notched its first win of the year and it did it in grand fashion.

GILROY—Each time Christopher and San Benito meet in the water, sparks fly and Tuesday’s contest was no different. The Balers got the better of the Cougars this time, winning 11-7 at Christopher High.

‘Have A Sole’ 5K aims to help domestic violence victims

GILROY—This year’s Leadership Gilroy class was tasked with creating an event that not only benefitted the community but involved it, too. The 2015 group took the challenge one step further and tackled a growing problem in Gilroy: domestic violence and human trafficking.
