Men’s EE
Gilroy – St. Mary Men’s Club earned the first-half Men’s EE League softball title Thursday with a 26-5 win over VFW Bingo at Gavilan Sports Park.
Shawn Chizanskas and John Doyle each singled and homered in a 12-run first inning for St. Mary Men’s Club. John Macedo and Chizanskas each finished with five hits for the 5-1 champions. Michael Perry mustered a single and double for VFW Bingo.
Gamers In Control powered past the Good Ole Boys 28-8 to finish the half at 3-3. A. J. Martinez lashed two home runs and Fred Tovar collected four hits and scored five runs for Gamers In Control. Ron Patterson cracked a three-run triple for the Good Ole Boys.
S&S Construction moved to 4-2 by defeating the South Valley Community Church Thumpers #1 20-8.
Emiliano Mendez and Albert Ortiz popped home runs for the Builders. Steve Conroy, Mario Flores and Tony Rodriguez each collected three hits for the Thumpers.
Co-Rec E
South County Rockery claimed the first-half Co-Rec E crown at 6-0 with a 7-3 victory over Team Intero Killers Sunday at Las Animas Park.
Rigo Benevides went 4-for-4 and Raul Gracia lined a home run and double for the Rockery. Amy Lynn Dale, Isaiah Gonzalez and Shelly Canerio scored in the Killer first frame. Gonzalez went 3-for-3.
The Spirit of Morgan Hill rallied for two runs with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning to upset Radiator Doctor 9-8.
Mike Herskovitch gained first base on a two-out infield error in the Spirit seventh. Tammy Herskovitch kept the rally alive with a single. Chris Putney won the game with a two-run hit.
Rod Rutledge hit a double and two singles for the winners. Henry Maquinalez collected a single, double and triple for Radiator Doctor. Anthony Lucio scored three runs.
Men’s D
South Valley Plumbing-Elam Trucking trimmed Dan Keith Septics 15-9 Friday to take the first-half Men’s D League title at Las Animas.
South Valley-Elam broke a tie for first place by scoring nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to erase a 9-6 deficit. Duke Newton led the rally with a two-run double. Richard Furtado went 3-for-3 for the winners. Tito Flores and Joaquin Zamarron each managed three hits for 4-2 Dan Keith Septics.
Dave Robinson went 4-for-4 with a home run to lift Dr. Tile past Ellite Barbers 28-10. Sergio Diaz, Greg Gilliam and Dave Del Villar each went 4-for-4 for Dr. Tile. Tracy Sustaita homered and doubled for Ellite Barbers.
Alex Pena hit a homer and two doubles to lead Rosso’s Rebels by Bomb Squad 21-13. Zeke Lopez led off the game with a home run for Rosso’s. David Espinoza hit a home run, triple and single for the Bomb Squad.
Men’s BB
Czar Construction finished the Men’s BB League atop the standings at 5-1 by earning a forfeit win over Bad News Friday at Christmas Hill Park.
Craig Avila Bail Bonds moved into second place at 4-2 with a 16-3 decision over Kline’s Plumbing. Ruben Ramirez went 5-for-5, Thomas Carrillo 4-for-5 with a home run for the Bail Bondsmen. Brent Boyd hit a two-run single for Kline’s Plumbing.
The Good Fellas outlasted Interstate Fence-Dee’z Nutz 9-6 in the nightcap. Alex Flores went 4-for-4 and Fernando Perez singled and tripled for the winners. Junior Gutierrez, Rich Chavez and Eric Gonzalez each drilled three hits for the losers.
TIE-BREAKERS
Stubby’s Girls earned the first-half Women’s B League title by defeating Williams Dental Lab 11-2 in a tie-breaker game Monday at Christmas Hill.
Elena Ayala homered and Tiffany McIntosh roped a double and two singles as Stubby’s Girls finished the half at 6-1. Celia Bonilla and Deb Gibbons scored the Williams Dental Lab (5-2) runs.
California Silk Screening topped Los Amigos Construction 16-11 Monday in a tie-breaker game for the first-half Men’s C title.
Jim Sands homered in a 4-for-4 effort and Dave Meacham added three hits as Cal Silk finished the half with a 5-2 record. Daniel DeLeon delivered a home run and two singles, Daniel Vasquez three singles for 4-3 Los Amigos.
Trevino Brothers Construction collected the Men’s DD League first-half crown by defeating Louie & the Outlaws 18-16 Monday.
Trevino Brothers (6-1) erased a 16-9 deficit with nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Skip Yenchick, Darren Wall and Matt Corona each plated two runs with hits in the Trevino sixth. Anthony Hernandez went 4-for-4 and Don Rose added a home run and two singles for the Outlaws (5-2).
The Titans edged EvMar 11-10 in the Men’s E League finale for both clubs Thursday at Las Animas Park.
The Titans turned six hits into four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Mike Vanni hit a two-out, two-RBI single for the Titans to trail 10-9. Johnny Ramirez tied the score with a double and Ryan Romero plated Vanni with the deciding run with a single.
Ramirez went 4-for-4, Greg Renn 3-for-4 for the Titans. Geoff Graves and Kurt Gitmed each delivered three hits for EvMar.
