The California School-Age Consortium is a professional association that serves the broad spectrum of school-age child care and after-school program providers. We endorse Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Proposition 49, the after-school ballot initiative.
School-age children, their families and all communities will benefit from this investment. Currently, there are 1.2 million school-age children in California with working parents who do not have adult supervision after school. With its vision of creating an after-school program at every state elementary and middle school, Prop 49 will expand a program that provides homework help, includes a recreational and educational component, and allows for local flexibility in designing after-school programs. Yes to Prop 49.
