Police say they’ve identified a man who was captured on surveillance video swiping more than $400 in electronic gaming merchandise from a Gilroy department store in August.
Robert Lavender, a 49-year-old San Jose resident who frequents the Gilroy area, has been identified by the Gilroy Police Department as the suspect in question, according to a press release.
Lavender was caught on tape Aug. 17 stealing the merchandise from a Kohl’s store in Gilroy, according to the GPD.
Police say he is a fugitive and is wanted for a $20,000 felony burglary warrant and a no-bail warrant charging him with felony parole violation.
The GPD, based photographs of Lavender from 2006 and 2010, says the suspect is prone to changing his appearance.
