Men’s EE

Gilroy – Bill Nickelson doubled and singled to lead the SVCC Thumpers #1 past 2NQ 13-11 in the Men’s EE League second-half opener Thursday at Christmas Hill Park.

Carlos Plaza singled and scored on a Rick Pena single as the Thumpers exploded for four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Tony Rodriguez followed with a two-out RBI-single to complete the rally.

Joel Garcia went 4-for-4 and Ed Cordia laced a triple, double and single for 2NQ.

S&S Construction used a 4-for-4 effort from Tim Razo to outlast Edward’s Cleaning & Hauling-Zertuche Real Estate 9-2.

Felipe Amador lined an RBI-triple as S&S scored three runs in the second inning. Lalo Garces provided an RBI-double in a four-run third.

Adam Salas went 2-for-3 and scored one run for Edward’s-Zertuche.

Gamers In Control poured across seven runs in the top of the first inning on the way to a 15-7 victory over VFW Bingo.

Eight consecutive hits to begin the game accounted for the Gamers seven-run showing. Fred Tovar went 4-for-4 and scored four runs for the Gamers. Joey Hernandez hit a home run, double and single, while Rudy Tovar and A. J. Martinez each went 4-for-5. Greg Flippo muscled a solo home run and Nick Aldrete doubled and tripled for VFW Bingo.

Men’s E

EvMar opened the Men’s E League second half by stopping Heinzen Manufacturing 11-4 Thursday at Las Animas Park.

Kurt Gitmed pounded two home runs and Pascual Cid delivered two doubles for EvMar, a 5-1 club in the first half of E play. Jason Mesa went 2-for-4 and scored three EvMar runs. Bobby Guerrero, Spencer Straub and Victor Viduari each managed two singles for Heinzen Manufacturing.

Jeff Wong lined a triple, double, single and sacrifice fly to spark Dutchman’s Pizza to a 17-4 nod over South Valley Community Church Thumpers #2. Greg Lugo cracked a two-run home run and Rhino Souza scored three runs for Dutchman’s. Frank Palacios accounted for a triple, double and single for the Thumpers, Jake O’Sullivan two hits and a sacrifice fly.

St. Mary Men’s Club struck for 12 runs in the first inning on the way to a 15-5 victory over Claddagh Brew Crew.

John Doyle socked a double and triple to key the St. Mary first frame. Emmet McCarthy went 4-for-4 and Greg Fernald 4-for-5 for the Men’s Club. John Weberg went 4-for-4 for Claddagh Brew Crew.
