at Las Animas Park.
GILROY – Talk Alota Ship took sole possession of first place in the Men’s Winter D League Friday with a 10-5 victory over Countryside Daycare at Las Animas Park.
Talk and Countryside brought identical 5-1 marks into the showdown. Talk broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fourth inning, then completed the scoring with a four-run fifth. Anthony Contreras drove in two runs and Raul Monroy and Rick Hattaway each scored twice for the winners. Louie Aguayo and Jesse Nunez each collected two singles for Countryside.
Joel Gaeta’s two-run triple in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a three-run rally as Los Chilotes edged the Rebels 16-15. Rey Dimas went 4-for-4, John Perez 3-for-3 for the 4-3 Chilotes. Joey Sanchez hit a double and two singles for the Rebels.
Ryan Boyd smashed two triples to spark Aladdin Bail Bonds-Carreiro’s Plastering to a 20-5 nod over the Get Low Players. Mike Soares went 2-for-3 and scored twice for Get Low.
Dee’s Nuts rallied past the Playaz 8-7 to move into a three-team tie for first place in the Men’s C League Friday at Christmas Hill Park.
Jess Lopez Jr. drove in three runs and Ray Martinez lined a single, double and triple as Dee’s joined VFW Vets and Guy’s Heating atop the six-team loop with 4-3 records. Good Fellas and Las Animas Sweepers remain in playoff competition with 3-4 marks entering this week’s final games of the regular season.
Isaiah Rodriguez collected four hits to give Guy’s Heating an 18-11 win over the VFW Vets. Toby Reyes went 2-for-3 with three RBI for the Vets.
The Sweepers outlasted the Good Fellas 8-6 behind 3-for-3 efforts from Joseph Arde and Jason Thomas. Fernando Perez singled and tripled for the Good Fellas.
Gaeta’s Taqueria (7-1) clinched the regular-season Co-Rec Winter B League title Thursday with an 11-9 squeaker over Handmade Healthcare at Christmas Hill Park.
Tomas Carrillo and Joel Gaeta hit home runs in a seven-run Taqueria third frame. Art Del Valle went 4-for-4 and scored three Gaeta’s runs. Warren Gaspar went 3-for-4 and scored three Handmade (5-2) runs.
Albert Alosi delivered four hits and Dave DeCarlo went 3-for-4 with four RBI as Feather Haven Mill (4-3) topped the Sand Pit (3-4) 21-8. Andrew Ornelas went 3-for-4 for the Sand Pit.
Marco Lopez lined five hits to lead Lopez Vending Machines past Let’s Do This 24-1. John Vasquez and Ed Lujan each went 2-for-3 for Let’s Do This.
