Dear Editor,
I want to thank the Gilroy city staff, City Council and police department – all those who played a part in keeping a spot in the police department open for Rene Arbizu, the Army reservist who recently returned from Iraq, especially Chief Gregg Giusiana and Mayor Al Pinheiro.
I thank you for saving his place in your officer hiring pool for nearly two years. Many communities have chosen not to step forward in integrity, and honor when placed in this position. Thank you for your support of our military.
