Men’s DD

Gilroy – Trevino Brothers Construction stopped the Eagles 8-4 Tuesday to clinch at least a tie for the first-half Men’s DD League title at Las Animas Park.

The Builders snapped a 4-4 tie with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Matt Corona made it 5-4 with an RBI-double. Rusty Trevino added a two-run single.

Darren Hall homered and Dan Gavrity hit two doubles to propel Trevino Brothers Construction to a 5-0 mark. Dennis Brownfield smacked a two-run home run and a double for the 3-2 Eagles.

Louie & the Outlaws slipped to 4-1 with an 11-8 loss to Pacific Coast Bail Bonds at Gavilan Sports Park.

Louis Bobadilla and Leroy Martinez each singled and scored in the top of the first for a 2-0 Outlaw lead. Pacific Coast Bail Bonds responded with five markers in the first and remained in the lead the rest of the contest. Manny Rivera went 3-for-4 and scored three Bail Bonds runs. Juan Contreras and John Perez each managed two hits for 3-2 Pacific Coast. Anthony Hernandez went 2-for-2 for the Outlaws.

The Loco Boys went to 3-2 by defeating the Assassins 27-9. Rick Castaneda went 4-for-4 with a sacrifice fly and scored four runs for the Loco Boys. Chris Eslick went 4-for-4 and Kurtis Salter provided four doubles and scored four runs for the winners. Robert Aguirre drove in five Assassin runs with a homer and triple, and Louis Gamez went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.

Women’s B

Stubby’s Girls needed a three-run rally in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Don’s Vending 15-13 in Women’s B League play Tuesday at Christmas Hill Park.

Missy Howe lined a run-scoring double and scored on a Jen McBain single in the top of the Stubby’s seventh. Tiffany McIntosh added a run-scoring single with two out. Nikki Thompson went 5-for-5 and scored five Stubby’s runs. Howe went 4-for-4 as Stubby’s moved to 5-0 atop the four-team league. Liz Adams and Veronica Pena each swatted three hits and scored two runs for Don’s Vending.

Williams Dental Lab moved to 4-1 by defeating Goldsmith Seeds 19-0. Cherie Somavia lashed a home run and three singles for Williams Dental. Yolanda Lomas and Esmeralda Hernandez each singled for Goldsmith Seeds.
