GILROY—Two Hollister men stabbed by a pair of assailants Monday are recovering from their wounds, Gilroy police said.
Police responded to an unknown disturbance call on the 5500 block of Monterey Road shortly after 4:23 p.m. and found victims, aged 22 and 32, suffering from serious injuries. One victim stabbed in the back and the other in the head, according to GPD Sgt. Pedro Espinoza. The men, aged 22 and 32, were taken by helicopter to a trauma center and are expected to survive, he said.
Investigators believe the victims and their attackers argued before the assault, according to Espinoza. The stabbing was neither nor gang-motivated, he added.
Witnesses told police the suspects fled in a dark colored SUV.
Despite a search by multiple officers, the two suspects were not found.
One suspect was described as a 180-pound, 5-foot-10-inch white male between the ages of 20 and 25, the other as a 6-foot-tall Hispanic man between the ages of 30 and 40.
As of Thursday afternoon, no arrests had been made, GPD Capt. Joseph Deras told the Dispatch.
