Take a step back in time to those thrilling days of yesteryear when the social life of the great ranchos revolved around the grand fiestas. Relive those great outdoor parties with caballeros chasing señoritas, meat cooking on an open grill, dancing and entertainment.

It’s that time of the year, when the rain comes and affects the playing conditions on the golf course. The three keys to playing golf in wet conditions are simply to stay dry, use more club and knowing the rules of golf for casual water.

It took 160 hours of training for a 7 ½ minute improvement. To set a personal-record (PR) at the California International Marathon (CIM) in Sacramento on Dec. 4, I had to train harder than ever. That meant running 60 miles a week, six days a week (Sunday was my lone day off). My "recovery" runs were anywhere from 7 to 8 miles.

Even more intriguing is the fact that the ministers involved are married to each other.

I’m fascinated by other people’s talents and skills. Musicians, novelists, dancers ... anyone who has a specific ability that they’ve honed and perfected. And kudos to those who share their talent and touch the lives of others - from teaching classes or performing on stage, to simply going to work every day, in the case of a steady-handed surgeon.

Does the city ever plan on cracking down on the fruit vendors on the corners of Gilroy streets? Do these vendors have business licenses? Where is the fruit coming from? The state requires all food sold to be prepared in sanitary kitchens. Is this fruit being prepared in such manner?
