Adams goes 4-for-4 with home run in a 16-1 victory over Rizzo

GILROY – Liz Adams homered in a 4-for-4 night as Don’s Vending defeated M. Rizzo Landscaping 18-1 to earn a share of the first-half Women’s C League title Monday at Gavilan Sports Park.

Let’s Do This suffered a forfeit loss to Marks Tractor Service, leaving Let’s Do This and Don’s Vending each at 5-1 atop the seven-team league. Let’s Do This will face Don’s Vending at 9 p.m. on Wednesday June 11 at Christmas Hill Park to determine the first-half titlist.

Megan Myrick and Melissa Taku each hit a three-run homer for the Vendors. Sue Keehn went 4-for-4. Melanie Fajardo and Kelly Kramer each mustered two singles for M. Rizzo Landscaping.

Annette Maquinalez went 5-for-5 and Sylvia Solis spiced a 4-for-5 effort with a three-run homer as Kay’s Kids topped the Impalas Car Club 19-12. Corrina Casillas and Silvia Vasquez each went 4-for-4 for Impalas Car Club.

Kris Ferguson hit three homers and two singles to lead Countryside Preschool by the Desperados 19-1 in Men’s CCC League play Monday at Christmas Hill.

Charlie Roe homered and John DeCarlo Jr. scored four runs as Countryside turned a 4-2 record into the first-half pennant. Frank Higuera went 2-for-2 and scored the Desperados run.

Los Gatos Capital rallied for seven runs in the final inning to slip past AJ’s Boys 15-10. Jim Nielson and Greg Cirineli each homered for 3-3 Capital. Chris Adame homered and Brad Burrows went 3-for-3 for 3-3 AJ’s Boys.

The VFW Vets built an 8-1 lead and held on to defeat Las Animas Sweepers 10-9 in Men’s CC League play Monday at Las Animas Park.

Abel Martinez lashed a homer and double as the Vets claimed the first-half title with a 4-2 record. Anthony Gonzalez added a double and triple, scoring twice for VFW Vets. Brian Cortez went 3-for-4 for 3-3 Las Animas Sweepers.

Raul Toledo’s RBI-single completed a two-run rally in the seventh inning as Krazy Koyotes-Dutchman’s Pizza trimmed Guy’s Heating 13-12. Dan Garrity went 4-for-4 for Guy’s Heating.
