South Valley Community Church is hosting a vigil for families of the victims in Newtown Conn. at 6 p.m. this evening.
“In response to the tragedy that occurred at Sandy Hook Elementary School, we are planning to come together and pray for all those who have been impacted by this horrible event,” said SVCC Pastor Greg Quirke.Â
Mayor Don Gage will attend the vigil as well as Gilroy’s own X-Factor semifinalist Austin Corini, who will perform a special song titled “Always,” which is about God’s faithfulness in the midst of heartache and loss.Â
The one-hour vigil will be at the Kelton Campus, 8000 Santa Teresa Blvd. The event may be held indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather, Quirke said.Â
