GILROY – Westside Grill powered past Pacific Coast Bail Bonds 19-6 Thursday in a battle of unbeaten Men’s E League teams at Las Animas Park.

Rudy Tovar ripped a two-run home run, a triple and two singles to lift Westside to 2-0 atop the seven-team league. Matt Galindo provided three doubles and Steve Arriaga posted a home run, double and singles for the Grillers. Ryan Boyd led 2-1 Pacific Coast Bail Bonds with a triple and two singles.

The Chippendales are 2-0 after a 13-10 squeaker over the South Valley Community Church Sons of Thunder.

Jason Kearns went 4-for-4 and Mike Dickerson lashed two triples and a single for the Chippendales. Shawn Chizanskas went 4-for-4 an Jim Hansen homered for the Sons of the Thunder.

New Hope Community Church turned back Team Hair FX 26-13. Matt Elam hit for the cycle in a six-hit performance for the winners. Rudy Rodriguez and Don Mitchell each went 6-for-6 for New Hope. Skip Boom went 5-for-5, Gilbert Ramirez 4-for-5 for Team Hair FX.

VFW Bingo reached 3-0 atop the Men’s EE League Thursday by defeating Team Beefy 24-8 at Christmas Hill Park.

Steve Lemberger paced the Bingo attack with a home run in a 4-for-4 night. Mike Stephens went 4-for-4 and Vinnie Randazzo went 3-for-3 and scored four VFW Bingo runs. Dustin Robinson and Stephen Hopf each scored two Team Beefy runs.

The Borrachos are 2-1 after a 6-5 edging of ConAgra.

Mark Cisneros plated Joey Flores with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh for the Borrachos. Albert Sanchez anchored the Borrachos effort with a triple, double and two singles. Steve Dozal stroked two doubles and a single for ConAgra.

Mitch Panza hit two home runs and Rudy Maquinalez went 2-for-2 to help the Assassins past the good Ole Boys 10-5. Robie Kramer went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Good Ole Boys.

Wednesday, June 4

The Players reached 2-0 atop the second-half Men’s CC League standings Wednesday with an 8-3 victory over the Platinum Roofing Slammers at Christmas Hill Park.

Frank Duran went 3-for-3 and scored three runs to propel the Players, the first-half DD League winner. Blue Torralba connected for three singles and Gary Diaz provided two hits and scored twice for the winners. Jose Andrade and Jason Luna each mustered two hits for the 1-2 Slammers.

Harvey’s Body Shop (2-1) rallied for five runs in the sixth inning to slip past the VFW Vets 7-6.

Frankie Martinez poked a two-run single in the fourth inning as the VFW Vets (0-2) scored four runs for a 6-1 margin. Freddie Gomez launched a three-run double in the Harvey’s sixth. Pete Osuna gave Harvey’s the lead with a two-run single.

Fernando Espinosa went 3-for-3 for the VFW Vets, the first-half D champion.

Ms. BeHaving moved into first place at 3-0 in the Women’s League Wednesday with an 8-6 upset of Draeger Construction at Las Animas Park.

Julie Wheeler went 4-for-4 with two RBI to spark the Ms. BeHaving offense. Chrissy Ivory stroked three singles and Kathy Bennett scored three runs for the winners.

Monica Pantoja hit a two-run home run and Liz Adams doubled and singled for Draeger.

Michelle Barry homered and Elena Ayala went 4-for-4 to key a 22-0 Mean Girlz victory over T&H Pools. Sally Snyder, Kathy Misenheimer, Marissa Montez and Ashley Hernandez each singled for T&H Pools.

Garza Sisters & Friends powered by Goldsmith 23-4 as Randa Habib went 4-for-4. Melanie Mikeska, Cynthia Garza and Leslie Miner each scored four Garza Sisters runs.

Monday, June 2

The Hit Men powered past Just Drink It 22-5 Monday to move to 1-1 in second-half Men’s CCC League softball action at Las Animas Park.

David Wright homered and Ernie Badillo garnered a triple and two singles to spark the Hit Men offense.

Russ Chagnon and David Carroll each added a double and two singles to the attack, Mario Razo a triple, double and sacrifice fly. Jess Lopez Jr. homered, Dave Meacham went 3-for-4 and Chris Boyer doubled and singled for Just Drink It.

Tax Systems claimed first place at 2-0 with a forfeit win over Lozano’s Let Me Hit It.

Johnson’s Lumber is 1-0 after a 21-13 decision over the Desperados.

The Lumbermen struck for nine runs in the second inning to grab a 13-3 lead. Daniel Caspary highlighted the frame with a three-run home run.

Drew Ornelas, Phil Ruiz and George Martinez each delivered four hits for Johnson Lumber. Dennis Barroza and Andy Stuve fashioned two hits apiece and Rob Patterson homered for the Desperados.

Bracco’s Towing (1-0) turned a 10-run second inning into a 14-7 victory over Pro Electric in Men’s C play Monday at Christmas Hill Park.

Robert Sanchez doubled and singled to anchor the Bracco’s second stanza. Jose Bueno paced the Bracco’s offense with a 3-for-3 effort while scoring four runs.

Albert Cortez went 3-for-3 and scored three Pro Electric runs. George Morales Jr. drove in two runs.

Pizza N’ Stuff is 1-1 after a 5-2 decision over Malibu Freezze.

Malibu opened the scoring with two markers in the first inning, keyed by consecutive doubles from Brent Boyd and Brian O’Donoghue. Pizza N’ Stuff countered with two runs in the second on singles from Dave Lujan II, Bob Howard and John Racz, then a Randy Newton sacrifice fly. Jarret Racz and Ryan Evanger each singled and scored in the Pizza sixth.

Dee’z Nutz is alone atop the Men’s BB League at 2-0 after a 24-20 decision over Los Gigantes Tuesday at Las Animas.

Dee’z struck for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning to erase a 20-17 deficit. Rich Chavez and Rico Lopez homered in the comeback.

Ruben Chavez went 4-for-4 and scored four Dee’z runs. Jose Melendrez Jr. went 5-for-6 and John Carrillo homered for Los Gigantes.

Roger Hernandez hit an RBI-triple and scored on a Gabe Ponce single as HD Auto Glass-Hard Ninety rallied in the bottom of the seventh to edge Northbound 12-11.

Toby Reyes went 3-for-3 for the winners. Mike Howe tripled, doubled and singled for Northbound.

Ruben Ramirez and Gino Martinez each went 4-for-5 with a home run to lift NorCal Regulators past Dutchman’s Pizza 18-16. Scott Perkins went 4-for-5 and Bobby Reggiani and Ryan Dequn poked consecutive homers for Dutchman’s.

The Loco Boys (1-2) upset the Titans 14-6 in Men’s DD play Tuesday at Christmas Hill.

Adam DeLeon went 3-for-3 and scored three runs for the Loco Boys. Rick Castaneda went 4-for-4 and Elias Madrd collected a triple and two singles for the winners. Steve Welch went 3-for-3 for the 2-1 Titans.

Claddagh Brew Crew joined the Titans in first place with a 14-13 squeaker over Feather Haven in eight innings.
