Dear Editor:
I have a suggestion for Bill C. Jones. If you feel that The Dispatch is so biased, go into competition by starting your own newspaper. (Opinion, Oct. 15, “Why has the Dispatch editorial board taken a sharp turn to the right?”).
Somehow you seem think that newspapers should not be taking sides on their editorial pages, or is it just that you do not agree with the positions of The Dispatch editorial board? You would be free to advance your liberal agenda in your newspaper, as long as you could convince enough subscribers to buy it. On the other hand, I have noticed your many left-leaning letters published in The Dispatch, so it may not be necessary after all.
If you do take my advice, I even have a name you may consider for your new paper, The Gilroy Differ, an acronym for Diversity, Immigration, Freedom of the press, Fair Elections and Reproductive choice. I had to through in freedom of the press even though it was not on your litany of grievances, but I presume you are for a free press?
