Police are looking for two men who knocked a woman unconscious then raped her after she left a downtown bar early Monday morning.

The 32-year-old woman told police she left a bar on the 7500 block of Monterey Street about 1:30 a.m. Monday, when she was struck on the head and knocked unconscious. She was raped by at least two unknown men wearing something black over their heads, police said.

Because she was knocked unconscious, there is no further description of her assailants.

The woman reported the crime at 9:23 p.m. Monday.

Garlic City Billiards owner Bob Tapella said police told him the woman was at the Rio Nilo Club, 7466 Monterey St.

“I didn’t see anything,” said Tapella, who lives above his business.

Though attacks downtown are rare, Tapella said more police presence is needed.

“It’s not good for business,” he said.
