Gilroy – Nick Magee and Anthony Gaetani each homered Thursday as 2NQ opened the Men’s EE League softball season with a 14-9 victory over St. Mary Men’s Club at Gavilan Sports Park.

Omar Rodriguez went 4-for-4 and Ricky Krogen scored three runs for 2NQ. Greg Fernald went 3-for-4 and scored twice for St. Mary Men’s Club.

S&S Construction defeated Gamers In Control 17-6 behind a grand slam from John Touhy. Albert Cortez added a homer, triple and single to the S&S mix. Eric Tovar, Rudy Tovar, Joel Robinson and A. J. Martinez each mustered two hits and scored one Gamers In Control run.

VFW Bingo earned a forfeit win over the Good Ole Boys.

Claddagh Brew Crew trimmed Dutchman’s Pizza 21-16 Thursday in the Men’s E opener at Las Animas Park.

Parker Hathaway homered in a 4-for-5 night and Lee Liberatore lashed a home run and two singles for the Brew Crew. Greg Lugo doubled and tripled for Dutchman’s Pizza.

EvMar topped Campbell’s Towing 21-8 as Kurt Gitmed and Pascual Cid homered. Ed Castro went 3-for-4 and scored twice for Campbell’s.

South Valley Community Church Thumpers #2 and the Titans earned forfeit wins.

DeeDee DelValle went 4-for-4 to spark Farmers Insurance to a 21-3 decision over Fidelity Funding Solutions in the Women’s C opener Wednesday at Las Animas. Tina Martinez and Jessica DeLaTorre each managed three hits and scored three runs for the winners. Denise Chavez went 1-for-2 and scored one Fidelity Funding run.

Kay’s Kids turned back Image & Design-Guy’s Heating 16-5 as Eva Neibel and Denae Tamosovitch hit clubbed a homer in three-hit showings for Kay’s Kids. Linda Figone and Chrissy Ivory each cracked three hits for Image-Guy’s.

Karen Turnland powered two home runs and Leslie Minor went 4-for-4 as M&M’s defeated Longhouse Restaurant 17-2 at Gavilan Sports Park. Theresa Raynor went 2-for-3 and scored both Longhouse runs.

Dennis Barroza went 3-for-3 to lead the Desperados by the Hitmen 20-11 in the Men’s CCC opener Wednesday at Christmas Hill. Shawn Lopez and Steve Garrido each scored three Desperados runs. Henry Quistian homered for the Hitmen.

Wesley Arias went 3-for-3 and Oscar Robles homered in a 25-8 Sticky Fingers nod over Kenko Utility. Mike Potter and Allen Wharton each collected two hits for Kenko Utility.
