Dear Editor:
Thanks to your terrific coverage our premiere of the DVD of
historic Gilroy films was a outstanding success! Of course, we also
thank the City of Gilroy Museum staff for their help in supporting
the creation of the DVDs and in staging the event. It was moved to
the Willey House which can accommodate a larger audience than the
museum. Would you believe about 80 Gilroyans attended?

Many “old timers”, but also children attended the standing-room-only premiere. The audience was excited and had a lot of fun visiting with their friends. We received quite a bit of relevant information and a few identifications. We may follow it up with another showing and invite those who were referred to us a “good sources”.
Readers who wish to purchase the 27-minute DVD may do so at the Gilroy Museum when it is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM. The price of the video is only $5, since this is a first effort without sound or narration.
All profits will be donated for the support of the Gilroy Museum. Gilroyans who have information/identification/pictures to share may contact the Museum at 848-0470 or Phill Laursen, creator of the DVD, at 847-1823. We also wish to thank a local firm, Express Media Graphics, owned by Mark and Debbie Davis, who produced the DVD itself with its beautiful label, a photo of a painting of the Gilroy Museum.
