STAR presents ‘Life is A Dream’

San Juan Bautista – The Gavilan Summer Theater Arts Repertory program – with director Javier Hurtado, in a play adaptation by Marilyn Abad Cardinalli – presents an original adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” called “Life is a Dream.”

The play shows Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm at the El Teatro Campesino, San Juan Bautista.

General admission is $12; students and seniors are $10, children younger than 12 are $8.

Republicans meet

Gilroy – The South Valley Republican Women’s Federated Club invites Republican men and women to join their monthly meetings.

The next meeting is Saturday, at Mama Mia’s, 1360 First St. Social begins at 11:30am; guest speaker and lunch at noon.

Youth volunteers needed

Gilroy – The Gilroy Youth Commission is looking for volunteers to serve on its 11-member board.

Any teens, between the ages of 13 and 19 who reside within the Gilroy Unified School District boundaries, are eligible to join the advisory board

Classic cars at Happy Days Show

San Martin – The San Martin Neighborhood Association’s 4th annual ‘Happy Days Car Show’ will be held Saturday, Aug. 19, from 11am to 5pm at the San Martin Country Park, 13865 Monterey Road.

Free parking, food, popcorn and ice cream, raffle/silent auction items, petting zoo, vendors and music of the JJ Hawg and the Usual Suspects.

There is a $5 admission. and the car registration fee is $35.
