Dear Editor,

Today, KSBW will be having their annual Salvation Army Telethon at Nob Hill Foods Gilroy for those who wish to help with food, new toys, clothing, blankets, and donations. There will also be barrels at Nob Hill Morgan Hill for food and new toys. At the same time there will be a 12-line telephone bank at the Salinas KSBW station and a 1-800 number will be on screen throughout the day to allow donors to give to their local Salvation Army by using a credit card.

The Gilroy Salvation Army serves the communities of Gilroy, San Martin and Morgan Hill. We sincerely thank all those who helped during Thanksgiving to make our dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 23 a success. We served a turkey dinner to over 700 people and distributed over 300 turkeys and food boxes to needy families.

The San Jose Mexican Consulate attended and they were astonished at the overwhelming community response. Thank you again to those who are helping the Salvation Army during the Christmas Holiday Season … whether it be with cash donations, material goods, or by volunteering.

God bless you all!

Captains Robert and Melissa Viquez and

Christine Flautt, Advisory Board Chair, Gilroy
