GILROY – M. Rizzo Landscaping clinched the second-half Women’s D League title Wednesday by winning twice at Gavilan Sports Park.

The Landscapers moved to 4-0 by edging Kay’s Kids 26-25 in the completion of a game begun last week.

Kay’s Kids trailed 19-17 entering the final inning, then struck for eight runs in the top of the inning to build a 25-19 lead. Kat Corrales hit a triple to open the Kay’s Kids rally.

M. Rizzo responded with a seven-run rally to produce the victory. Rene Rogers thumped a three-run home run to complete the comeback for the Landscapers.

M. Rizzo Landscaping (5-0) followed with a 34-5 nod over the Angels. Rogers and Melanie Fajardo each homered for the winners.

LeeAnn Blean and Kelly Kramer each went 5-for-5. Julie Palm went 2-for-2 and Erin Monroe clubbed a two-run single for the Angels.

M. Rizzo Landscaping will play Michael’s Mufflers in the best 2-of-3 Championship Series next month.

The Energizers moved into second place with a 3-2 record by outlasting Kay’s Kids 14-6. Donna Martin and Maureen Duggan each lashed a triple and three singles for the winners.

Teena Lopez hit a single, double and triple. Annette Maquinalez bombed two home runs and a double for Kay’s Kids. Essie Martinez went 3-for-5 and scored twice.

Let’s Do This is 4-0 atop the seven-team Women’s C League after a 10-5 decision over Goldsmith Seeds Wednesday at Las Animas Park.

A lead-off triple by Lacy Juarez helped Let’s Do This to a three-run rally in the third inning and a 5-3 advantage.

Cynthia Garza and Diane Del Valle each mustered three hits for the winners. Norma Wendt went 3-for-4 and scored three runs for Goldsmith Seeds.

Sheri Steinbeck hit a three-run home run and three singles to spark 4-0 Dutchman’s Pizza by Michael’s Mufflers 30-0. Christina Salvin and Dora Olivarez went 4-for-5 and scored four runs.

Mary Oteri lined four singles and scored four runs. Sophia Gause went 2-for-3 for Michael’s Mufflers.

Barb Lemberger went 4-for-5 and scored four runs to pace Marks Tractor Service to a 17-12 victory over Impalas Car Club. Chrissy Ivory added four singles and scored four Marks runs.

Silvia Vasquez went 4-for-4 and Corrina Casillas netted a single and two doubles for Impalas
